Position:  Director, Field Education  – North America 

Reports To: Vice President of Sales and Education

 

Summary:

 

The Director, Field Education – North America, is responsible for ensuring a consistent brand experience at the point of sale that meets/exceeds company sales and service objectives.  Responsibilities include:  (1) leading a team of regional education executives, (2) leading and setting an example for education seminars/schools/activities, (3) leading the execution of new executive on-boarding initiatives, (4) ensuring that field education execution is aligned with all internal and external stakeholders, and (5) setting an example of outstanding field collaboration.  

 

A successful candidate will have the ability to strategize, convey marketing and brand initiatives, and take a proactive approach towards goal achievement.  In addition, this person needs to embody the Too Faced brand and have the ability to inspire, educate and entertain. 

 

Ability to travel up to 50%.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Leads Field Education Strategy and Execution

  • Creates and affirms the NA Field Education Point of Sale Strategy and Execution with the Executive Director, Education & Artistry and VP, Field Sales & Education.
  • Partners with the VP Field Sales & Education to ensure precision planning and execution of the NA Field Education point of sale strategy (Seminars, Basic & Promotional Business, New Account Openings, New Product Launches, New Hire Orientation and Special Events)
  • Communicates and confirms Seasonal Education Strategy and Execution plan with Regional Education Executives.
  • Leads Train the Trainer Field Education Strategy for NA
  • Provides individual/group product and selling/services coaching to Regional Education Executives and Field Executives
  • Responds to and communicates NA education needs, innovation and results to Corporate, Sales, Education, Field (as requested)
  • Participates in selected retailer and executive forums to share key education field execution strategies, implementation plans and results

 

Leads Classroom Seminar Administration & Execution

  • With Regional Education Executives, creates a plan for seminars that will drive sales results (audience includes, but not limited to….consultants/cast, freelancers, key stakeholders)
  • Responsible for contributing and adhering to the Field Education budget with regard to seminar costs.

 

Leads Key Corporate Retailer Education

  • Will serve as brand point person for key retailers
  • Will attend key market week meetings

 

 

Manages Field Educators

  • Identifies and utilizes the talents for every member of the field education team.
  • Determines the focus and field execution plan for all education initiatives. Works with the Sr. Manager, Education Program Development to set performance expectations.
  • Responsible for contributing to and adhering to the Field Education T&E
  • Conducts ongoing and annual performance evaluations for field educators and artists.

 

 

Leads New Hire Orientation Strategy

  • Works with Field Sales Directors to develop an orientation plan for field executives and key freelancers focused on the Too Faced brand experience at the point of sale, product knowledge, artistry skills, and an understanding of regional partnerships and teamwork.
  • Leads strategies to develop a strong emotional connection with new and existing representatives in multi-branded environments.

 

Education Special Projects

  • Provides ongoing feedback, insights and ideas to the Global Education Department on programs, products, retailer/field needs and competitive activity.
  • Leads the development of assigned programs
  • Leads assigned special projects as needed.

 

 

THIS IS WHAT YOU’RE MADE OF:

Skills Summary:

  • College degree and minimum of 7 years beauty industry experience
  • Prior experience working with key retailers, Sephora and Ulta
  • Written communication and presentation skills
  • Significant makeup skills, training skills and event execution experience
  • Understanding of beauty education as it relates to retail sell through
  • Ability to manage timelines and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills, organization skills, attention to detail, ability to organize information
  • Agility to respond to changing priorities and resilience to operate in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment; effective time management skills; ability to prioritize
