We are growing and we are looking for a Quality Control Specialist to join our team! You will conduct tests to determine the quality of materials and finished products as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency. This position will be integral component of the Quality and Production team by providing accurate details of on-hand inventory and inventory in-transit. The successful candidate will possess a proven record of accomplishment in a similar industry for successful quality control management in a fast-pace and growing environment.

 

This position is based out of our Corporate HQ, located Irvine, CA.

THIS IS HOW YOU WORK IT:

Maintain excellence in product quality

  • Perform thorough examinations of all materials and finished products. Ensure that upon acquisition and thereafter, materials meet quality standards. Ensure that products from testing through distribution are of the same quality.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any product or packaging problems and defects, including but not limited to broken or leaking products and packaging. Conduct routine visual inspections. Determine where in the production process products and packaging deficiencies occur. Determine the cause of products with high volume returns.
  • Implement and improve quality control procedures. Continuous improvement to identify process gaps and provide recommendations. Conduct and report internal audits and evaluations.
  • Work closely with the supply chain team in vendor discussions and negotiations.
  • Ensure all batch submissions match established masters for formula, texture, scent, and color.
  • Maintain and build excellent relationships with labs. Daily communication with domestic and international contract manufacturers related to approved or rejected formula submission comments.
  • Work closely with contract manufacturers, PD, and Production departments to review and solve any quality concerns.
  • Responsible for establishing yearly master formula updates.

Maintain and build organized formula submissions/product and component master libraries

  • Record and file all project formula feedback; both electronically and hard copies.
  • Ensure all batch submissions match established masters for formula, texture, scent, and color.
  • Maintain and builds excellent relationships with labs. Daily communication with domestic and international contract manufacturers related to approved or rejected formula submission comments.
  • Label and file all approved and rejected formula submissions in PD Formula QC Library.
  • Label and file all approved and rejected component submissions in Packaging Library.
  • Maintain new component range boards in Packaging Library.

Maintain / Develop document library

  • Manage and maintain records relating to all product testing and inspections.
  • Analysis of customer and regulatory requirements to assess their effect on the internal quality of products.
  • Verify compliance of regulations from various markets.
  • Establish QA Log detailing issues and resolution.

THIS IS WHAT YOU’RE MADE OF:

  • 4-year College Degree Required
  • Minimum 4 years’ previous work experience in quality control or other related fields
  • Experience in the cosmetics is a plus
  • Knowledge of FDA and other relevant regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of GMP and testing procedures is a plus
  • Some travel may be required
